Free At LAST!

Oh happy day!

YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Yes your intrepid wonky warrior is unleashed on an unsuspecting world again!

The day began with the nurse helping me into my chair and Mrs Titanic woke.

Cracking one eye open and spying me hobbling hopefully in the direction of the chair, she made the comment of the year.

"Oh dear lovie! You don't look too well, whatever is the matter? She does look poorly!"

"You should be in a hospital darlin'!"

Afraid that the nurse and I both laughed at that one ;-)

After the wash, Dr fly-by-night flashed his hollywood smile and quipped the reason I had no bad reactions to this drug was because of his calming influence. MORON! True the only issue was the neuropathy telling me my left lower leg was on fire at 4am, thankfully oramorph doused the flames swiftly and had the added benefit of knocking me off for a few hours so I missed a lot of Mrs Titanics adventures.

Anyway, today I am too excited to care I am off home (with a fair wind) and a bit of luck. Started nagging about the drugs first thing as I have vivid recall of the last escape from the general which was hampered by Pharmacy not having the meds in time and having to wait another whole night in here....

funnily enough it comes as a total surprise that patients mostly get discharged at weekends and needs medication to take home! Its like on a Monday there are not enough sheets or pillow cases on the wards. It comes as a surprise every week! Real rocket science this! NOT

The Sister comes to see me for an NHS first. Normally they get wind of the fact that your bed might be vacant in a few hours and they are so keen to boot you out they don't care how suddenly ill you are, what your set up is at home etc. They used to do this to elderly people and this practice has been largely stopped (thank goodness), but it is the younger patients they do it to now as we are soft targets.

But after last times complaint (by yours truly) they are being a bit more careful this time.

Sister actually asks what my care package is like at home, who at care services to liaise with and what helps I require. Wonders will never cease!
Endocrinology come a visiting. I know I have developed addisons disease due to long term steroid but they are now wondering if it is the RA itself.
Basically, chewing my joints is not enough "fun" for the rheumatoid- oh no! What you want is for it to chew your adrenal glands, pancreas, stomach and guts as well as a few other bits on the way. I did ask the endocrine team when I could call "BINGO" as I seem to have an almost full house of autoimmune inflammatory conditions.

Even dermatology came to visit to tell me that I have inflammatory cells in every layer of skin tissue.

They are calling it complex immune disorder but really its my old enemy RA wearing different disguises.

In the end it was all quite quick. Escape plans long dreamt of came to fruition and my Mum zoomed me out of there, en chariot.

Tomorrow operation "family barbeque" is commencing. This is a hurdle wonky warrior dearly wants to leap with confidence but "hobbling hopefully" is about all we are likely to manage! Sooo looking forward to spending time with little Boo. At 2.5 they are such magic! Been talking to my lad everynight on the phone and hoping he has actually done some homework....

Anyone fancy a burger some Pimms and lemonade and some homemade salsa?

Now THAT'S an escape to be proud of! You didn't even need a tunnel, a dog or pins! Jenni, you're a hoot, and so tough in spite of the obstacles you're facing from the RA dragon and his friends. I hope you had a terrific party today and enjoyed the burgers, Pims and salsa, and that you're now tucked up and feeling well.

Did Mrs Titanic ever escape? Thanks for your kind wishes over at my blog, and here are my best wishes to you, too, m'dear. Keep smiling ...

Congrats WW! So glad you have been sprung. I will miss Mrs. Titanic, though I know you won't. But I suspect you'll cast your trained eye on some new fine character to keep us entertained. Hope this drug works for you! Thank you for a regular dose of smiles--working better than my drugs at the moment. (((gentle hugs)))
