Yeeks- Drs and Rheumatoid bingo

Mrs Titanic is muttering away with her family, speckled with songs and other chat about next door's dog.

Settling down and wondering if anyone was visiting a trapped wonky warrior Dr Fly-by-night swooshes in with Dr Big Cheif at the helm.

Decisions- hmmmmmm.

Having had a good blub down the phone to all my family about having me knickers in a right twist over whether I should have the new drug or ask what the realities of bone marrow transplant might involve.

No holds barred, I blurt out to Dr Big Cheif that I have the willies about taking his shiney new drug as I was allergic to the last few, loosing the feeling in my legs was no picnic and Dr fly by night doesnt believe me but the notes will show anaphalaxis after the last biologic.

hmmm says dr fly- by- night. Pats my hand knowingly.

You must have been VERY anxious though and that might have made you feel uncomfortable....

inhibitions limited, muttering the phrase "knob head" under the breath roughly disguised as a sneeze wasnt quite as convincing as i had hoped as the wink from the nurse told me...(oops!)

Further conversation revealed that the risk of anaphalaxis may be strong on new drug, but they can usually get you back in hospital. (GREAT! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!)

Bone marrow transplant is far more risky and there are no guarantees of being able to live through it, plus it would be a long long process involving a lot of time away from the children.

Right then, bearing that in mind he begins to tell me that in a nut shell the immune system is eating every system in my body and is killing me.

marvelous. He will need a definative decision in the morning

I ask if there are any names to these conditions caused by the dreaded severe RA and I write them down, Dr Big cheif asks why I keep the list. I explain that I am trying to win the sweepstake at RA related bingo!

My heart goes out to you. Tough decisions to make - so big of the Dr. to give you a WHOLE day to think about it (idiots!). Hope you find some peace and answers in your sleep tonight.

Not a lot of sleep in the night but I went over and over the options in my sleep in the night, spoke to my cousin who is a GP (I think they are called MDs in America).
Its strange because from my window I can see the room where I had my 2 yr old in the building opposite and I remember that view from the other way round!
I know I have to make a decision Valleywriter but good grief it is hard going with 3 children a husband and rest of friends and family- it is not just me is it! So hard.
I am decisive once that choice is made though.
